Since the society was founded in 1867, its aim has been to stimulate and educate the public in the beauty, history and character of the countryside. The Society promotes these values with research, lectures, publications and resources available for education.
During the summer months we conduct archaeological research, excavations and walks.
From September to April on the fourth Friday of the month, we have a programme of speaker meetings taking place at St Saviour's Church Hall, Spencer Road, Eastbourne BN21 4UT. Doors open at 7 pm with our speaker commencing at 7.30 pm.
